Brief Vacancy Description The Engineering function determines the asset management specifications and engineering competencies required to maintain, renew, and enhance the railway network, so it is able to deliver the high performance levels that the business requires. It is tasked with making engineering decisions as cost effectively as possible to satisfy the needs of the customer and the business - its focus is delivering Network Rail’s vision of engineering excellence for Britains railway. As a Renewal an Enhancement Engineer, you will determine renewal requirements and develop allocated engineering renewal and incremental enhancement requirements. Detailed External Job Description This role requires the responsibility for inspection and prioritisation of renewal proposals, providing technical advice and support to the production of the national business plan. Your experience will enable you to develop allocated renewal and incremental enhancement schemes to meet Network Rail’s goals, supporting the development and implementation of projects to confirm the renewal requirements are sufficient. You’ll have an ability to specify acceptance criteria for engineering works including design approval and acceptance of equipment enabling hand back to maintenance as appropriate. You must also work with members of the team to review renewal and enhancement proposals to optimise engineering activity across the railway infrastructure system and identify critical technical problems. An ability to identify issues and check that accurate and comprehensive records are maintained will be required, ensuring that they accurately reflect their current ‘as built’ status. A key part of this role will be to participate in investigations of incidents relating to renewals where required. Do you have …. ? Chartered Engineer status?
